WaHi Cats Recieves Grant from Friends of Animal Rescue!
In April, WaHi Cats received a grant from Friends of Animal Rescue to help pay for the medical care and treatment of a cat named “Hi-Rise” who was thrown from a 4-story window in Washington Heights. Hi-Rise miraculously survived a fall that would have killed most cats, but she sustained multiple injuries including a dislocated jaw, fractured elbow, and broken teeth. Not one of these injuries was life-threatening, but they were beyond WaHi Cats’ limited budget to treat. Thanks to the grant from Friends of Animal Rescue, and generous donations from dozens of donors who came through to give this “miracle cat” a chance at a new and better life, Hi-Rise is currently receiving the medical care she needs, and is being rehabilitated. If you or someone you know would like to adopt this very special cat and give her the loving home she needs, contact sherri@wahicats.org.

Thanks to the efforts of dedicated volunteers in our neighborhood, and the ongoing support of local businesses like Spoiled Brats Pet Supplies (at the corner of 181st and Bennett Ave), in the past year and a half:
• Over a 100 cats from the Washington Heights area have been sterilized
• 100s of cats and kittens were adopted out to new, loving homes
• Many healthy, sterile cats now live our own Cat Colony and are checked on and fed daily by neighborhood volunteers
