Dearest Friends of WaHi Cats—
After 16 incredible years helping thousands of cats in the Heights, WaHi Cats will close on December 31. It is never easy to say goodbye, but life pulls us all in different directions, and even the most beautiful things have a natural end. This decision was bittersweet, yet we know it was the right one. It felt important to close this special organization with love in our hearts, and to wind down carefully and properly—in a good way and at the right time, while everyone involved in the work was still strong and healthy, and had the time, energy, & resources to oversee a smooth ending.
These past 16 years have been a beautiful run, and we are deeply grateful to all of you: every donor, volunteer, foster, adopter, trapper, colony caretaker, and supporter who made this work possible. Thousands of lives—human and feline—were transformed by your compassion and advocacy. Thank you for being the heart of the WaHi Cats family, and for your love of the cats of Washington Heights.
We love you,
The WaHi Cats Team
